Dr Patta Radhakrishna is a renowned Surgical Gastroenterologist, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeon with over three decades of experience. He is the Director and Senior Consultant in the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology and Minimal Access Surgery at MGM Malar, Adyar.

He has pioneered day care laparoscopic surgery in Chennai, he sends patients home within 6 hours post-surgery for gall bladder stones and hernias.He holds the largest series in ERCP + Lap cholecystectomy during the same session for stones in the gall bladder and bile ducts.

Dr Patta Radhakrishna received his training from esteemed institutions such as Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Institute and Research (JIPMER), Stanley Medical College, Madras Medical College and AIIMS, New Delhi. He has worked as a consultant in Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad, and Sree Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) in Tirupathi. He had worked in two of the biggest corporate hospitals in Chennai for a total of 24 years.

His extensive training in advanced laparoscopic surgery includes procedures like Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Appendicectomy, Hernia Repair, Heller’s Cardiomyotomy, Total Esophagectomy, Total Gastrectomy, WHIPPLE’S Procedure, Fundoplication, Rectopexy, Colonic resections, Splenectomy, Liver Resections, Hydatid excision, and Bowel resections.

He is the chief admin of the much-acclaimed Facebook group ‘Learning General Surgery’ which boasts of a membership of over 42,000 global members, predominantly surgeons. He is an active member of ASI, IASG, IHPBA, SSAT and a few other professional bodies and serves as invited faculty to their meetings.
